Jan Martin Poet

Jan Martin is a visual artist and writer who has lived in Watchet for over 10 years. She has written and illustrated 3 collections of poetry about the landscape and stories of the area, and her work can be heard along with other local poets, on the Quantock Poetry Trail app. Jan has just completed her MA Creative Writing at Bath Spa University, and last year won Watchet's first Poetry Slam. Jan has been teaching poetry workshops in Watchet for several years, and has previously held workshops in Bristol. She reads regularly at Watchet's poetry open mic at East Quay and was recently their guest poet. She loves to walk on Watchet's beautiful coast and hills gaining inspiration for her poetry.
